About this event
Join author and local historian Barbara Dickson for a presentation on Bomb Girls: Trading Aprons for Ammo and explore the stories of Scarborough's own GECO Girls. View a pop-up panel highlighting the women who worked at Canada's largest fuse-filling munitions factory during the Second World War and learn about their contributions to the war effort. Through storytelling and historical research, discover the experiences of workers aged 17 to 70 from diverse cultural backgrounds and gain insight into an important chapter of Scarborough's history. Following the presentation, attendees are invited to stay for a book signing, with a limited number of copies available for purchase.
