Ravine walk at Raymore

Cultural · Environmental

A young girl wearing a sunhat carries a bunch of garlic mustard down a dirt path across a field.

About this event

Join Raymore Nature Stewards on a guided walk through the park. Learn about plants for ink-making & natural dyes; ecological restoration; foraging for food & flavour; birds of the valley; and the annual salmon migration. Raymore Park’s dramatic history helped shape Toronto’s conservation movement. In 1954 Hurricane Hazel washed away the suburban neighbourhood where the park now stands. The TRCA’s floodplain management plan makes space for rivers to flow and ravines to flourish.
