Maria Hupfield invites champion fancy shawl Pow Wow dancer and boxing trained athlete Deanne Hupfield to bring discipline, skill and beauty to her wearable sculpture titled Double Punch (North) 2024, currently on display at Market Gallery. The two performers meet at the intersection of creative expression and recreation through movement and sound for this live engagement. Deanne first activated Maria's artwork Jingle Spiral (2015), in the two channel video commission One Who Keeps on Giving in 2017 for Maria’s first major solo exhibition of the same name at The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery in Toronto.
