Death on the Hills

About this event

We summon you to join a cortège of excommunicated choristers gathers to ask a question the living cannot answer: what happens when we die? Witches, friars, hermits, and heathens convene on hallowed grounds, reckoning with the fear and fascination of what lies beyond the veil. As our pilgrims explore immortal works from Verdi’s otherworldly telling of Macbeth to Elgar’s eerie choral apologue Death on the Hills, fear, peace, judgment and relief are unearthed as Death and his shadowy train ride across the hill. Featuring Nicholas Borg, Victoria Borg, Ryan Downey, Gwenna Fairchild-Taylor, Claire Harris, Leanne Kaufman, John Kirby, Megan Quick, and Daevyd Pepper. Works by Elgar, Verdi, Barber, Clarke, Britten, Heggie and more.
